I'm in process of adding a refugium to my system. My question is if I go with mineral mud, or miracle mud is there a cycle period? Or can just add in the mud and continue on.
They way it would be set up is as follows.
DT drain to 60/40 split to sump(60) and refuge(40) controlled by ball valve
refuge to sump
sump to DT
Sump has 3 chambers
1. drain incoming - with LR, possibly sock filter
2. Mud, or Sand - with Caulerpa, or Cheato - Good lighting if need to run 24/7
3. pump to sump - possible skimmer (or skimmer will be in first area of sump.
