What's a good light for a 3 gallon tank that will allow me to keep corals but is also on the cheaper side?

What kind of corals do you want to keep?

There are tons of lighting options.

I'd like to keep LPS and soft corals most likely. I wouldn't keep anything that is too difficult to care for. I'd like to not spend much on this light because I'm trying to save up to upgrade my 20 to a 55 gallon over the summer

Possibly mushrooms as well like ricordea. Also looking at dendros right now

What are the dimensions of the tank? Height, width and depth.

One of these Coral Compulsion bulbs http://coralcompulsion.com/led/PAR-BULBS would be a good choice. not to expensive either. I have one of their par 30 bulbs over my 3 Jbj Picotype softy tank. For an Sps tank i would go with the the par 38 bulb.

How good would a 6500k light do for a tank this size?

youd be better off with a 10,000K bulb

Will a 10,000K support coral? What would the 6500K be good for?

6500 would be a good starting point for fresh water plants. Yes a 10K will support coral. You also have to look at the intensity of bulbs as in lighting spectrum. Then there is the wattage of the bulb or bulbs.
