What are you looking to feed them? And what do you mean by "homegrown"?

Do you mean homegrown as in brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, etc?

You'd first need to decide what you want to "grow" then we can help :)

Yes ... brine / mysis shrimp (or what ever would be cheap and easy)-- I have 2 old tanks (2g) (36g bow front) and was thinking about getting some eggs and just use that as my fish food.

Brine Shrimp are easy, just get some eggs and dump them in saltwater, you don't NEED a heater/air pump for them, but you get a better hatch rate if you use them. With Brine Shrimp, they aren't extremely nutritional once the yolk sac is consumed, at that point you'd want to enrich them with spirulina, or something similar.

Mysis shrimp are a bit more difficult, I haven't personally done it (yet ;) ), but try searching around RC to figure it out. It's not too hard, but harder than brine shrimp.

There is a RC thread all about raising worms as food.
