I need to raise my calcium from 380 to about 425.How much calcium can I safely add at one time?

I'd do that change in two doses, personally. One day apart should be fine.

50ppm is a safe per day increase but if you can spread it over many hours or over 2 days its better.

One way I remembered the maximum daily dose is(alphabetically):
Alk = 25 ppm( .5 meg/l, 1.4dKH )
Ca = 50 ppm
Mg = 100 ppm

each one is twice the value of the former.

I regularly dosed 2-3 dKH per day in one shot. The alkalinity guideline seems very conservative. I think the Randy usually recommended limiting a daily dose to 100 ppm for calcium, as well.

It looks like it's different for every person. When I even raised my alk more than 1 dkh per day, I got bleaching on some coral the next day. It seems, at least in my system, I can add from 50-100 ppm of calcium daily without any ramifications, but not alk.

Last week, when I had to raise my calcium from 390 to 425, I did it over a 24 hr period in three separate additions with no issues. Hope this helps.
