Zoas+Mushrooms instead of sand

I'm planning a tank and if I don't go for a deep sand bed, I was thinking of trying to use a combination of mushrooms, zoas and maybe even some GSPs to cover the bottom. Clearly this would take quite a while for them to grow and cover the whole tank bottom, but I think it would look pretty amazing eventually. Has anyone ever seen this done? Pics?

I'm in the process of this right now. Just finished removing the last bit of my sand. Going to cover the bottom of my tank with zoas and let them take off.

Well hasn't happened yet. Like I said slooooow. Would like to get a third for the center but haven't found one I like yet.
