Hey, everyone, I have a pair of Purple Tilefish and was wondering if this is normal behavior or hes having issues? He just stops moving his back tail and his back body just swings down, then he resumes swimming normally as if nothing ever happened. He just started doing this yesterday, the LFS has had them for 2 weeks, and I've had him for 3 days before it started doing that. They were eating like pigs at the LFS and they still do eat like pigs in my tank. Here is a video.

I'm not familiar with Tilefish, so I don't know whether or not that is normal behavior for them. But if you suspect a swim bladder problem, try the "pea trick" by feeding a boiled, then peeled, pea. It may not help, but it certainly can't hurt.

You also might try posting your video in the "Reef Fishes" or "Reef Discussion" forum to attract the attention of those familiar with Tilefish and their habits.
