Are you talking about the branched blue thing in the middle of the pic or what appear to be hordes of aiptasia all over that rock?

that is a ton of aiptasia

The blue thing is a natural growing sponge. It's great for the tank but will die if exposed to air. Use Aptasia-X to kill the "little anemones" if you let them be they will take over your tank!

Based on the appearances of the tips (multiple and round) I'd say is a very unhappy branching frogspawn...hammer would look a little different.
