How bad of an idea is removing one of these front braces so I can fit in my 20gl as a sump? tank is 125g 5'x18"x2' ... If I do remove it I suppose It would be smart to try and get i back in :P

I'm assuming you can't slide the sump tank in between the space?

Those legs are structural, the only way you can remove them would be to shore up the system using teleposts and 2x4s cut them out and install a 2ply 2x4 span beam with 3ply 2x4 posts on either end.

Then fasten the cut out pieces to the inside of the doors, it will give it the faux support look :)

The only way you can get around not having to shore up the weight is remove the DT from the top.... but since it's active your probably better off shoring the cabinet.

Yea I have decided even though the area is small I'm going to just add a Rubbermaid refuge and plump it in till I revamp the system next year ...
