When dosing with Kalkwasser what is a good starting point (minutes per hour run time). Im thinking about starting at 1min 30sec each hour for 6 hours, then work my way up as needed. What are some of the run times or controller programs that the members are using when dosing Kalkwasser.

I have always dosed Kalk with my ATO next to my return pump with no issues.

What size is your tank? What size (gph or ml per minute) is your pump? Without that information we cannot give you even a guess.

I have mine hooked up to my Apex and only doses if the pH goes below 8.05 and stops at 8.10. It's dosed w/ a peristaltic pump rather slowly. For my setup, that range works best.

My tank is a 150gal with water content of 125gal. my doser is the BRS 1.1ml/min. I just started this tank and have very little coral, but I wanted to get ahead of the game before everything becomes too low and im struggling to get the number right. My ph is 8.2 and the cal is 400.

Start slow and measure dkh daily, calcium weekly. Don't let the dkh rise too fast and you'll be fine.

If you are using a standard 1.5 tsp of kalk to a gallon of RO/DI water mix, you are going to need more kalkwasser than the 1.1ml doser will provide. I would start somewhere in the 1/2 gallon a day range and work up from there. The 1.1 ml doser running 24/7 would not deliver that much kalkwasser.
