Acropora under T5???

I have a 4 bulb 39 watt T5 fixture and wanted to know if I can even consider acropora. I plan on getting higher grade bulbs for it. I'm asking because I of course want to make an informed decision and not kill any specimens.

They would be kept about 8-9 inches from the surface.

If they are 4" below the surface and directly under the lamps, you can definitely keep acroporids. At 8", I'd be concerned that some species will do fine, but others will not.
