I'm on the fence about either a dosing system or Calcium reactors? I've recently see a number of reefers switching from Calcium reactors to dosing and I'm wondering why.

Thanks,

I switched to a Ca reactor a year ago on my 80 gal and kicked myself for months for not switching sooner. The cons I was told is how complicated it was. Really? Co2 is put into flowing water thus lowering pH which dissolves aragonite media. The calcium rich effluent flows into your sump thus adding Ca 24/7 and keeping things stable. If you're adding too much Ca and notice Ca levels rising, slow the Co2 rate and/or the effluent rate.
Not enough? speed it up.

My tank exploded in growth with the stability. Since adding my Ca reactor I no longer dose Ca or alk. I clean and fill my reactor every 3-4 months and replace a Co2 bottle every 6 months. Easy peasy.

Nice to hear. Really. Planning on getting a GEO 612 plus AquaticPlants electronic regulator for my new 130.
