Upgrading to hydra. I just set up one of my 92 and it is cycling right now. On my other 92 I had sol blue's which I have sold. I need to buy some lights. Not sure if I should go with hydra or hydra 52. Will there be any advantage or am I just adding to much light which I may not need? Thanks, JOE.

If it's a cube I would go with the hydra fifty two, you would only need 1 fixture as it would cover the whole thing.

It is a corner tank. dimensions are 46" across front & 35" from each front corner to point in back. Center of front bow to the back overflow is 24". I also have glass lids on my tank but I am running a canopy that I think will help direct more light down.

I just upgraded to the hydra. So far I'm underwhelmed by the blues in this fixture. Pretty disappointing colors IMO.

I have the 54 corner, and have one Hydra, I am in the process of either adding a second hydra , or adding t-5s around the perimeter. I love this light on my tank. I have the director so I can easily adjust each spectrum perfectly.

I think you will need 2-3 fixtures for good coverage. Think of a baseball diamond.

2 fixtures = Point them from home to between 1rst and 2nd, and between 2nd and 3rd.

3 fixtures = 1 at 1rst, 1 at 2nd, 1 at 3rd.

Good Luck

Might be some helpful hints in that thread from other corner tank owners.
