I'll be finishing off my 180 build with a custom stand. Need some inspiration! So if you have a really sweet stand, please show it off.

It's not in the thread above because it's not DIY. :)

The above thread just says show me your fancy stands, not DIY stand, just happens to be from that section.
That thread is great for both showing off and inspiration to all reefers.
YOURS is amazing!(And I'm a finish carpenter by trade) and I think it certainly belongs there!
I love that sloped hood, very nice.

Here is mine, the barrel turned out to be an interesting project for cutting a door in it. Still needs a little work, once it dried out my door boards loosened up even though I have them screwed into the hoop. Have to figure out way to secure them back up now.

haha, thanks. The rest of the house is ok... pretty cookie cutter for around here but its new so that's nice. That's what happens when you have kids and move to the burbs. ;)

my current system ...

canopy top opens 3 ways:

2 raised panel doors open down
full length piano hinge opens the front
2 gas pistons + full length piano hinge in back opens the entire top since canopy is not removable due to all wiring running into LHS dry section cabinet ...

full set of cabinet doors on the back of the cabinet + LHS cabinet door

did you use a CNC for that piece or was it hand cut?

That was hand cut w/ my trusty Bosch jigsaw, even the suckers, turned jigsaw sideways and hogged them all out.
There are 91 suckers, I know this, because I had to roll sandpaper up tight and hit each one no less than a 100 strokes each to make them clean for stain, and counted each one...each freaking one of em!lol
I will most likely not make one of these ever again, or at least not that many suckers, cause I was feeling like a sucker afterwards for making so many!

Thank you, I am a finish carpenter, and as it goes I rarely want to spend my days off building anything for myself, but I'm glad I finally did on this one, and pretty happy w/ it.
Looks like I'll be locked into a 150g for a long time!

Here's what I ended up with. I sanded, stained, and sealed some old knotty pine panels my grandfather built around 20 years ago. I could'nt be happier with how they turned out. I love the herringbone pattern, I haven't seen another like it.

here's what it looked like before, I'm so glad I didn't scrap them.
