Hi I'm setting up a 55 gallon reef tank and was wanted to know your guys input on getting the right elements in my tank? Do should I use a calcium reactor, dose, weekly water changes or whatever is successful for you.

What animals do you plan to keep? What is your objective? If have the opportunity to change the tank size, I recommend not going 55g. The 55g must be the worst dimensions ever. 40 breeder, 65g or 75g.

I plan on keeping clams, anemones, sps, lps, and maybe some sps. I have thinking about going to 65g instead so let's say 65g. My objective is to keep corals and other organisms healthy.

too small a tank to bother with one, use 2 part calcium, you'll be happier.

Get a few dosing pumps. Mg, Ca, and Kh.
