Hello

I'm working on a 105 build and I'm gathering goods! I'm planning on buying some digital Aquatic float switches to plug into my Apex Breakout Box. I still need to buy a pump. Any suggestions?

TIA

Tom's Aqua Lifter, I also use straight air line tubing heat it over a stove and then chill it so you can make a curve to it so it will sit on the sump securely.

I also use the Toms aqualifter pump for my ATO there are very inexpensive and work well

Aqualifter with no problems so far. Very quiet and no damage to the pump if your ATO resevoir goes dry.

Going with a Cobalt 400 after hearing feedback that the Toms were short lived and the new HydroLifters were very loud.

If you have $200 the Spectrapure UPLC-II is the way to go

I use the reef fanatic auto top off with two float switches no issues.

I use one of these, best ATO I have used plus it allows me to have my top off water in the garage 35 feet away, saves space under the stand.

I also use the DA switches with an apex and an aqualifter. Watch those float switches, if they are not completely level front to back and side to side they have a tendency to stick or hang on the shaft causing more evaporation than normal, then the pump would have to run for long periods to replace all the evaporation. Basically playing heck with the sg. When they are leveled they work like a champ

Tom's Aqualifter here as well. Hard to beat the price, ease and low cost to rebuild and as someone else mentioned, the pump will not burn up if your ATO runs dry.

If you have the budget go with a peristaltic style pump. They pump a metered amount of water so you can add a second layer of fail safe to your dual floats.

Not sure why Toms are so popular. I wouldn't use it for a top off pump but I know a bunch do with success.

Peristaltics range from $30 to several hundred.

I currently use an adjustable ColeParmer Masterflex with an easy load head but only because I was rebuilding my 15 year old masterflex constant speed drive.

My controller knows if the pump has been running too long and sends me a text to say something is going on. Even if my leak detectors don't catch it within 20 minutes of springing a leak I will know it regardless of where I am.
