I couldnt help but be back in the salt water hobby again, after being out i couldnt help myself from getting back in again!
This tank will be mainly SPS dominated tank, but at the same time keeping it really simple and making my life a lot easier to maintain.

I went with JBJ because of the rimless curved glass look, and the AIO made my life alot easier without all the sump/salt creep issues. my plan for the chambers is looking like this. i modded the stock media basket to just hold the filter to reduce water fall noises

Left side : Skimmer > GFO reactor
Right side : Cheato > Heater
Middle ATO/RT Pumps

My equipment are:
Vortech Mp20 < will convert to MP40 soon
Aquatic Life 8Bulb/ATI bulbs
Innovation Mini Desktop Reactor
Hydor Slimskim Nano
Marine Magic Dosing pumps
ATO
Finnex 100W heater
RKL < On order

All im missing is a controller I wish i can go with the apex w.o display but they dont carry them anymore, so my plan is to go with a simple RKL with PH probe, Remember, im trying to keep this simple and easy i dont really want all them fancy gadgets

On to the aqua scape, intially i wanted 2 of the same islands but over the few days i got bored of it and ultimately i couldnt hold that much tabling acros, so i switched it up a bit

I'm still thinking to scape the mini island, either something smaller or keeping it that way, with this aqua scape i can easily hold branching/tabling acros and for the lower part i will hold some stags/slimers

with that said, i got the MP20 and Magic Dosers for a REAL steal price! even the mp20 came with a spare wetside!

The way the mp20 moves the water is really incredible!

Dont mind the cover in the back, i just made that as a template but later on i will make an actual cover for it

remembering back how i loved t5 i couldnt bare myself going with LEDS so when it came for the right time someone was selling a 8bulb t5 aquatic life fixture DIRT cheap!! with waterproof endcaps and built in timer!!! I'm not sure about this fixture but even with 8bulbs i can literally grow anything! ATM i have it hanging 12 inches off the surface of the water. With the Aquatic life hanging kit i can easily move it up or down if needed!

My only concern is i might have to mess around with my bulb combo, im having to much blue of a tank and it really sucks

Sorry for the Crappy pictures, ill soon take better pictures once corals are in, as for all the equipment, the wiring is a mess, im waiting on my RKL so once i get it ill clean up the wires,

The tank has been up and running for 2 weeks going on 3 and by the looks of it the cycle is running its course!

I have the same tank and I would recommend the bigger media baskets for the best filtering. I believe In Tank sells them. I duplicated the specs and made my own. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/02/27/agy5ymeb.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/02/27/abazeqas.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/02/27/asu9ujy2.jpg

I just place filter floss on the top and bottom shelf which is replaced weekly and the middle shelf holds Purigen and Chemi pure on opposite sides.

I wouldn't need the basket, I'm already using a mini reactor for gfo, also I would like using cheato so I can hold some pods in

Just a thought. It works great for the mechanical filtration, catching excess food and other debris.

Heres to March FTS

After the long dreaded cycle i purchased a pair of clowns
http://i584.photobucket.com/albums/ss288/imrbobby/310140004_zpse821e621.jpg (http://s584.photobucket.com/user/imrbobby/media/310140004_zpse821e621.jpg.html)
, 2 weeks after that i bought myself a RBTA, throughout my hobby I've actually never owned a RBTA so heres to new beginings! She's been in here for 2 weeks now fully acclimated but my clowns has not yet hosted her yet ( i wish they did )
http://i584.photobucket.com/albums/ss288/imrbobby/310140003_zpsac771f75.jpg (http://s584.photobucket.com/user/imrbobby/media/310140003_zpsac771f75.jpg.html)

after looking at so many sps i went to my LFS AquaSD ( great place to stop by if you ever in San Diego ) got myself a freebie sps frag, needless to say its been about 1 week now, it browned out (possibly from the dip) and regaining its PE and colour!
http://i584.photobucket.com/albums/ss288/imrbobby/310140007_zps5a6512d6.jpg (http://s584.photobucket.com/user/imrbobby/media/310140007_zps5a6512d6.jpg.html)

onto the equipment, i purchased myself a WP-10, the reviews speak for itself, its a nice little powerhead for the price, but it wasnt enough for me, so now i have 1 MP-20 and 1MP-40, this little tank will be rocking with flow! as for the WP-10 im using it as a salt station mixer,

soon after looking for some type of screen netting i went to home depot, got myself some DYI screen netting and went to work, since i have an 8bulb fixture the light shines behind my filtration and will ultimately build aglae back there, so i custom made a black marine board over the screen, it turned out pretty well

ATM im making myself a salt water mixing station, i have my ro/di setup in the bathroom ( i always hated carrying jugs of water up the stairs, now its right across the hall, and mixing salt will be inside my closet! pictures will be up next time when im done! have a nice reefing day!

I have the same tank! I'm in love with it! How did you make the back cover? Does it reduce evaporation?

Im pretty sure evaporation is still the same, i bought everything at home depot, if your handy with your hands im pretty sure you can make it, just get the screen netting kit, and 1/8 marine board make it to your desired length and install the screen, after everything is done measure where you would like your marine board to sit at, cut/drill any holes you need, apply some silicone on the edges and there you have it ! i can take some more detailed pictures if you like

I have this same tank. Is the screen top resting on the rim? I was going to try to build one that is recessed. Don't know how hard this would be. Good progress on your tank.
