Anyone uses Dow Flake Xtra calcium chloride 83-87% pure to make calcium for dosing?

I'd be worried about the other 13-17%

Mostly water. A little bit of KCl and a bit of NaCl. There's a bit of bromide in there too I think that can be a problem if you don't do water changes.

It seems to be fine in practice.

Try it and if it works let us know, and if everything dies let us know

I have been using Damprid for the last two years with no issues. You can pick it up at any hardware store.

I've been using "prestone driveway melt" for about four years without a problem.
