I've read a lot of bad press on the Purple Reef Lobster, but I have to say we've been lucky. We got a little guy about two weeks ago, and so far he hasn't predated anyone. Because of a tank crash we've got a bunch of stuff temporary housed in our 30g tank, with no fish (Fallow, ich treatment). There are several hermits, snails and a cleaner shrimp in there with the Lobster, and so far he has left everyone alone. I'm surprised, too. That tank is very crowded right now, with a carpet anemone, long tentacle and bubble tipped anemone, four leathers, a zoa, polups, mushroom, etc etc. It's not an ideal situation by any stretch of the imagination. But so far, so good.

I forgot to mention that I do target feed him daily, some krill or silversides....

He can really click his claws loudly, and does it almost nightly as he forages for food. This particular lobster is out and about at all times of the day and night, even though he has plenty of dark hiding places in the rocks.
