My tank finished cycling and added a couple of clowns. One behavior was suspect anyways, but now he is MIA. I have not added a CUC they are on order and will be delivered Thursday. The other clown is doing fine.
The question do I need to dismantle my rock work to fine what I assume is a clown corpse? How much of an ammonia spike should I anticipate? Thanks!

Personally... with that much water volume and live rock, I'd feel comfortable leaving him in there. If it's truly cycled it should be able to handle that waste without much problem. Maybe skim a little wetter for a week. Just something to think about, but have you checked your overflow and sump? Is the tank covered? If not check to see if he went carpet surfing...

Was he big? If not, then all you've done is give your denitrifing bacteria a nice meal. A well cycled tank is very resilient.

No, looked everywhere. He had settle into the lower back of the tank yesterday. Not very active. SO I think he just succumb to sickness and drifted into the back of the rocks.
I think the bacteria are a plenty. Messed up the calculations and started with ammonia of 15. lol I'm sure a little clown will be handled just fine.
At least the crabs will have something to eat Thursday. lol

Lol if your cycle was able to convert 15ppm ammonia it will have no trouble haha.

It is possible that it jumped out. Check the floor

one thought is, keep an eye on the other one in case it was ich or something..... i.e. don't throw in your $$$ dream fish in there right now! just in case there was anything contagious.
