I searched, but didn't come up with what I was looking for. I want to set up my 10g as my QT, I don't have my DT setup, but I plan on having it up and running within 2 months. I wanted to get the QT setup and cycled so I can buy one of the fish I want. I am going to QT for 8 weeks, this would put me on track to be able to introduce my fish into my DT when it is ready.

Anyway to fast cycle or skip the cycle all together?

Overnight live rock from Florida and sand. It should go through a mini cycle but you should be okay. Or see if anyone is taking down there tank and buy there liverock but go with new sand

This is for a QT, I don't want any sand or rock in it.

get some type of bio media and seed it with a bottle of bacteria, might speed things up a bit for you. Be sure that you see nitrates build at the end to confirm it cycled, and no ammonia/nitrites left. before you add the bottle, get the ammonia up so you know its there.

Okay, thanks for the advice.

Plenty of brands but I've used Bio-Spira with good results. As the above said some kind of filter w/ bio media will be needed. Sometimes it's nice though in a QT to have some rock. Something like powerhead, light, heater, rock for a real bare bones QT tank.

In which case the Bio-Spira can go into the tank or your LFS may have some fully cured live rock. Oh the possibilities. :p

Get some established tank water and floss used from a fellow reefer or a club or a LFS. That's instant QT otherwise it will still take some time even with Macrobacter or SmartStart which i consider the best.
