I noticed this in the tank. It looks like an arm from a bristle but its huge, probably an inch out of the rock and 1/4" in diameter.

It's a bristleworm. Harmless. You also have some valonia...bubble algae. You'll want to get rid of that.

Bristles are often confused w/ fireworms, and while bristles are harmless, the much bigger fireworms can be a problem, can harm fish.
I use a trap made for bristleworms to catch them, last few I caught were about 2 feet long, ugly as heck.
Possibly what you have there.
