ATO turning on a lot

Anyone else notice their ATO is turning on a lot? Is there any way to make the ATO not turn on so often?

Its doing its job..
The only way to change it is to reduce the evaporation rate of your system..

winter = colder/drier air = more evaporation..

It's the electrical system that is in close contact and arcing. (Bad on your sensor bad on your pump)


I have mine set on a digital timer so it only comes on every three hours for a few minutes. That way the pump isn't always cycling. Most pumps will burn out if constantly going on and off.

There are plenty of options but this is the one I went with.

There are a lot of other good methods like a switch that turns the pump on for a minute or so at a time, that way the water level moves significantly and waits a few hours before switching on again. Rather than just a trickle at a time.
