can anyone help me with ideas on how to make large (24" aprox) mangrove roots (products, techniques, etc.)? nothing on the market resembles realist mangrove root or is large enough for my build, so i need to create my own. i need these to be 100% reef safe and permanent. any input is appreciated.http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/03/17/pazusa6u.jpg

Could you bend off and add branches, then texture it with pond foam? I'm throwing spitwads cause I'm not sure.

I've covered real wood branches with fiberglass resin for terrestrial exhibits (reptiles & small primates), never tried it in an aquatic environment but if sealed completely should work well. Hard part would be finding the branch that looks like a mangrove.

If you want to use all synthetic materials that won't rot, you've got a few options.
*make frame out of PVC (heat with propane torch to bend to shape) then cover with metal lathe, then cover with vinyl patching concrete dyed brown
*PVC frame or nylon rope finished with Polygem https://www.polygem.com/products/zoopoxy
