I am new to the hobby and still adjusting my stock list and was wondering if I could get a Kole Tang or a small Angelfish
The tank will be a 75 FOWLR with a sump
Current stock list plan
1 Canary Wrasse
1 Fire fish
3 Cardinal fish
2 Fire shrimp
2 Cleaner shrimp
4-6 Peppermint shrimp
I really want the shrimps and the wrasse the other could be switch out for a tang or angel if needed

I think you'll be ok adding both a kole tang and a pygmy/dwarf angelfish to your list. Your almost at capacity though as far as stocking the tank with fish goes IMO.

Is that with the list I have because that seems like a lot or did you take some of the fish on my list off?

That's with the list you have. I wasn't counting any of the invertebrates, so one canary wrasse, three cardinals, one firefish, & a diamond goby is not that much for a 75 gallon tank. You add a dwarf angel and a tang, (which need quite a bit of room) & the walls start to close in so to say.

Thats good news is there a certain species of angel/tang you would recommend for a newbie

For that size tank, I think a Kole tang is about the only one you can house comfortably. They have lots of personality though, so they're well worth it. As far as angels go, Coral Beauty's are pretty hardy. Flame angels & Cherub angels are also nice. Lemonpeel's & Bi-Colored angels can be kind of tricky sometimes. (refuse to eat prepared foods) Eibli and Potter's angels are also very nice, but they don't seem to show up at the LFS that often. Whichever fish you decide on, just make sure to pick out a good one and QT if need be. GL.
