I just performed a move about 1.5 months ago. I replaced the sand bed, but used the same live rock as the old system. I also used 30 gallons of established tank water to combine with freshly mixed water (Brightwell NeoMarine) to fill my 120 gallon tank and 30 gallon sump. I have all my fish in the tank (Dejardini, foxface, clownfish, 2 sunset anthia, 3 chromis) and whatever corals made it.

My green slimer and undata are coloring back up nicely. I'm trying to save my yellow scroll coral, and the torch and hammers are showing nice extension.

My question is, when should my tank be "established". I still have some diatoms and have done weekly water changes with sand bed vacuuming.

I want to add a couple more fish and start my SPS with a prostata or millepora.

When should I feel like I can do this?>

Using the same rock is a biggy. Assuming it was not out of water too long(therefore no die off on the rock) then I would say after the 1.5 months, your tank is definitely as established as it was before the move.

Any new sand has always brought diatoms in my experience :)
