QT Tank for new setup

When I set up my new tank I will be adding on an emergency only QT using display water to fill and change. I'm thinking 10-20 gallon. I currently have an Emperor 400 HOB filter that I would like to use. I was wondering if that is too much for this small of a tank? Maybe somehow I can DIY a guard so no fish get caught in the intake??

I couldnt see bigger hurting anything, but you may want to have some kinda strainer on the intake. Good Luck!

I would agree with frog. You could use some kind of plastic netting rubber banded over the intake or filter floss even.
