View Full Version : Whose Eggs Are These?

My husband and I have down-sized to a 30-g nano. Since having a baby last fall, the tank has only had its routine maintenance so I know that what ever this cluster or creature is, its not a new comer. We have a rose 'nem, two black ocellaris, some snails and a couple hermits, a purple gorgonian, and some annoying unidentified large-ish hitch-hiker tube worms. My first inkling was that its a clown fish cluster, but the eggs are not anywhere near the anemone and neither fish have been tending that area of the tank.

Any ideas?

There is some yellow sponge in the area, but its growth plateaued (and a portion had receded/died after an auto top off debacle) and hasn't seemed very active in many months.

I could be wrong, I get something similar in my tank as the white cluster with the little heads in my tank, but they grow out to be white sponge in my tank. Not sure they are the same, thats just what it looks like to me.
