Both look good but is it worth spending $60 more for the Vertex?

I'm new to saltwater and I'm setting up a 50G with 18G sump.

I have experience with neither....but I do have an Omega 150.

Going by what they list, the Omega carries a 2 year warranty over the 1 year on the AquaMaxx. I am also not a huge fan of bottom mounted(vs side) pumps, takes away from bubble mixing area.

You cannot go wrong with either, I would personally lean towards the Omega. Some of that extra $60 can be taken away with Memorial day sales coming up, usually 10% off. But then the AM would be cheaper as well.
