View Full Version : Should I count this anemone out? (Powerhead damage)

Here is a before picture:

Then the anemone hid for a few days and I assumed it was just getting situated as it was relatively new to the tank. Finally showed himself and looked like this:

Looks like he got clipped by a powerhead. Torn tentacles and ripped foot (in places).


Then he seemed to progressively get worse:

I would not count it out just yet, but you do want to pull it if it starts to mush.
It does not look good, and I THINK if I remember your tank was on the new side, specs, params, history will help.
They sometimes pull through and often split when stressed, and look ugly as they do, though yours does look like it has more issues maybe.
Any other nem w/ a torn foot is death, BTAs may split.
