I want to remove the reds and add something else from the 3 value reefbreeder fixtures on my tank. What would be a good choice? Has anyone done this and do you have pics of how the tank looks before and after the change?

Here is the factory layout

Channel 1 consists of 13 4500K neutral whites, 6 480nm blue, 6 420nm violet, and 2 660nm deep reds. Channel 2 consists of 28 450nm royal blues

Anyone have some input on any type of fixture that they changed the red for something else? Or and help with what benefit the red has and what would be a good alternative to getting the same benefit?

i would changed the red to violets, but if you think your current light is too white, u can change them to royal blue.

I did change out four leds on my three fixtures. I actually added 2x 4500K and 2x 420nms. I replaced 4x 480nm as I feel those add an undesirable "windex" color. I added the two whites on the farthest outside line and I replaced the middle.

It is very easy to do but you may need another set of hands to get the LED off. They aren't mounted on star boards so it is a bit more tricky but all in all, easy. Fixture is so simple too.
