I have two gobies in my tank. One yellow watchman and one hi-fin banded. The YWG was the first one in the tank and he is usually out in the open, but has taken to hiding in a cave not far from the one where the Hi-Fin has taken residence.

They are never out anymore and when they are, the YWG will chase the Hi-Fin back into hiding. Is there anything I can do to get my gobies back out into the open?

How big is your tank?

Are they paired up with a shrimp? Maybe get a shrimp for both of them so they feel more secure.

36 gal. is this too small for two small territorial conspecifics? they aren't pair with shrimp.

You likely need to remove one of the gobies, a shrimp will not help

Thanks, guys. That's the last impulse buy I make.

I have a 10 gallon I was going to use as a sump, but decided to stay sumpless. Would my Hi-Fin be happy in there? Could probably get a small filter on there (or the AC50 that's on my 36, want to upgrade it to a 70 or a 110). Want to be fair as the YWG was the first in the main tank.

Also, what is the best way to remove the Hi-Fin? bottle trap?
