Today I fed my fish mysis coral beauty ate fine noticed it had a weird little twitch two hours later it was dead. Thinking back I have noticed it "yawning" a little occasionally I am dosing with cupramine at a level of .3 for ich. When he died I found him with mouth wide open and white cottony stuff inside (see pics). What could this be?:uhoh2:

what size tank and what using for oxygen / surface agitation?

i lost my coral beauty to hlle caused by copper. but what you experienced sounds more like oxygen deprivation if gasping (yawning). or maybe ammonia.

what are you testing your copper with? ---and a side note, you know that .3 won't help with ich, right? need .5

Added over 2 weeks I thought .25 would kill ich. Testing with seachem kit and running my skimmer so I am 99.9% positive oxygen not the problem it's a 30 gallon qt ammonia badge says less than .05ppm

havent used any ammonia removers right ?
just FYI. the skimmer would remove the copper if you use cupramine.

No ammonia removers and the skimmer has been running with cupramine the whole time now level hasn't changed at all

.35 is the minimum to kill ich. .5 is recommended over the period.

And remember you cannot use ammonia neutralizers with copper.
