Hi,

I have old 95 SW with internal overflow. looks like it leaks into the main tank. Over night 1/2 gallon of water test leaked into the main display. Sounds like I need to reseal the internal overflow, as I would have expected no water to leave internal overflow. What is the best kind of sealant to use?

thanks,

If it was me I'd use true aquarium sealant and completely remove the overflow, clean all the surfaces, and start over with it. I don't think you'll like a patch job. I'd have growing concern about the rest of the tank seams too.

Had a situation not unlike yours and thought "It'll be ok and it'd take such a string of unpredicted circumstances...". Yep. Flood doing more damage than I thought possible. Walked away from the hobby for an extended period, stored the equipment in the way for years. Ended up giving it all to a local public aquarium starting up. 1000's of dollars worth of stuff.

Minimizing risks high on my list these days.
