I recently transferred over from running a full ZEO system and my phosphate was always 0-0.03 ppm. I slowly transitioned from ZEO to GFO and started with Phosban. I noticed the fine matter was sneaking through the filters and ending up in my sump which I didn't like so I switched to NPX Bioplastix.

I've been running them for about 2 months and noticed my phosphates creeping up slowly. It's now 0.05 ppm. I run the appropriate amount for my tank so I'm wondering if I should increase the amount of bioplastix or try maybe the vertex plastics.

Advice?

The bio pellets have very minimal effect on phosphates, they work much better for nitrates. I would suggest the BRS hi capacity GFO, it doesn't have all the fine particles that Phosban does.

I've been waiting for BRS to stock up on the magnesium sulfate before I place an order with them. I will try their GFO next.
