Haha I know, I know. It took me a while to figure out how to upload photos. How do I get photos to show up on the thread larger??

Anyways, April 23rd is day one with this tank. I used Bio Sprila. Bottle claims it make the tank fish safe after use, so I bought 2 fire dart fish and a cleaner shrimp.

Ammonia-0
Nitrate-0
Nitrite-0
Salinity-33ppt

Any and all recommendations and criticisms are welcome, especially if they help me avoid any problems.

I've heard the same claims about bio-spira. I've even seen Ryan on BFS use it. I can't speak on that topic aside from that.

I think I started my current tank on the same day you did. I'll be watching. ;)

I saw that video of Ryan too. That was the one that made me decide to try it out. So far so good. My two dart fish hide in their cave most of the time and of course it's at the back of the tank so I rarely see them. Hopefully once I get more fish and coral in the tank they will become more comfortable.

Tonight I added 10lbs. more of caribsea live sand. Tank is very cloudy at the moment. I also fired up my skimmer. Can't wait to see how this thing does

So I have a lot to update. I have two cleaner shrimp but would like to add a coral banded shrimp but am wondering if they will all get along. Any one with knowledge or experience please educate me. I have added a tail spot Blenny, Randall's goby, Rastas zoas, fire and ice zoas, frog spawn, red digi, 2 birds nest, 3 feather dusters, sand sifting star, hermits snails

Tank looks great! I have one of similar size and its just finishing cycling. How do you like the wp25 in a 30? I was ready to pull the trigger on a pair of wp10 but am undecided.

MikeL152123

I love my WP25, I think I will sell it though and buy the new twin WP10. Only reason is footprint. The power head is a bit big for my tank. Full disclaimer I have never owned Vortec mp power heads but as far as water movement and controllable options I think the jebao WP is a far better value. I get great waves in my tank and the elos (random) mode is great

Current Fish

Tail Spot Bleny
Randall's Goby
Fire Dart Fish

I am going to get a pair of clowns and would like a mandarin. My question is how many "nano" fish can I have in my tank?? I have been told a verity of numbers so I would like to get a solid idea of what I can keep.

I have an algae bloom. Standing in front of the tank it looks red, close up it looks brown. I added a WP-10 which seems to have helped but looking for any other advice. Thanks

Tank looks great, how do you like the maxspect light? We have pretty similar set ups and I've been looking at lighting upgrades over my current evergrow box.

I love my Maxspect fixture. Easy to program and my coral seem to love it as well. I would highly recommend it!!

I NEED HELP!!!! I have dinos..... I have done two 3 day black out (wrapped tank with black poster board, top and sides). Had about 10 days lights on in between. After each blackout the dinos would be gone but would reappear within a day or two. I dosed peroxide (1ml per 10gal.) which did nothing. I am out of ideas. I have cut back from feeding my fish frozen food every day to every other day and even cut the portion in half. Still the dinos are all over my rock, sand, powerheads/return and glass. I changed the filters on my rodi unit. I also added a reactor. Used Kent Phosphate Sponge for a day and a half and then removed that and used BRS GFO media. Is there anything else someone has heard of that people had success with? I am planning on siphoning the water out into buckets through a filter sick and fresh water rinsing the rock but this is going to take a lot of time and $$. Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated.

what can you tell me about the Hydra Aquatics Vortex Water Flow Accelerators? Like it, don't like it?

Is it definitely Dino? Dino is the long stringy bubbles. Diatoms is brown dust like on the sand and glass. All new tanks get diatoms and it is nothing to worry about
