Found ich in my DT last week, I have moved all my other fish to the QT, and am going to leave my DT fishless for 8 weeks to have the parasites die off, but I have one yellow watchman goby that I could't catch, it's impossible for me to catch him since he's always hiding by the rock. I heard parasites only attach to fish, will they die off with the goby in the DT?

fishless is just that, fishless....

I feel your pain, I had ich in a 300 gal DT and had to pull out ALLLL my rock to catch a flame angel....

I do have a yellow watchman goby, and the way I caught him was using a fish trap.... works well!

and if you have to dismantle your rock, at least you have 10 weeks to get it back in place :)

And on that note... you mention fallow for 8 weeks; however it needs to be 72 days (10 weeks). This will coincide with what is currently known about how long the cyst stage can stay intact before the new parasites emerge.

True dat...!!!

I will do 10 weeks then. Do I change the water in those 10 weeks? And after the 10 week? I have about 10 corals and 1 rbta in there.

You could always look at it as a chance to redo your aquascape!

yes, continue to do water changes for the benefit of the non-fish inhabitants. just don't mix water between the DT and QT at any point.

And keep equipment separate as well unless you clean it with a bleach solution and/or let it air dry for at least a day or two.
