2 gobies of the same type sounds like a no no.... wondering If a red headed and a diamond could go together in my 60. Gal? Thoughts/opinions, and I'm ok if the answer is no, just curious :)

I would say unless the tank is really big, shy away from two gobies. I have a yellow watchman and a hi-fin red banded and the hi-fin is ALWAYS in hiding because the YWG is a jerk.

I think that because they are so dissimilar in size and where they live (one on the sand the other on/in the rocks) that you'll be fine. I have 2 x YWG's and a diamond gobie in my 120 with no problems at all

I had a large pinkspotted watchman & a 1 1/2 ft long engineer goby together in a 65gal w/ no issues, but I think I was just lucky...

A 1 1/2 foot long engineer goby? I want to see.

Yea, he was a cool bugger...a foot long when I got him & grew another 6"s...never stopped digging...I'd wake up to new sand dunes every day...It hurt me to my heart to sell my setup & livestock before moving crosscountry from FL. to CA.

I'd say no problem. I have seven different types in the 240.

I had 2 Engineer Gobies that big for over 5 years, they shared the same cave but moved a lot of sand around....They were 16" and 18" and over an inch across...had a lot of $21 cleaner shrimp snacks ( at least that's where I'm assuming my shrimp dis-appeared to)

How about a goby and a blenny?

Yea, engineer gobies do best in pairs but should be added at same time. I doubt yours took out the cleaner shrimp. What other fish did you have at the time?

Gobies & blennies are usually not compatible in same tank. Goby is territorial w/ other fish of the same body type. Good luck!

Thanks everyone. I'll try it and if it doesn't work out, return one. :)

Got a few of them in the tank as well.

OP, good luck and get pics.:wavehand:

+1 you can put a goby & blenny together. I had a tailspot blenny w/ a shrimp goby in a 12g nano w/o issues.
