Good evening Reef Central---
I am not new to the hobby.. I have been doing this for a few years.. I am back after a long hiatus the hobby has changed... when I started Compact fluorescent bulbs were the rage... then metal halides and t5 combos then straight t5's then people started building led fixtures DIY...
I left the hobby due to divorce and personal reasons... it's been 2 and a half years and I have followed through catalogs and product releases and looked at pictures of people who have amazing tanks.
In my early days I had lots of problems...from buying used equipment to not understanding the water chemistry and what I was doing wrong...
I feel as if I had good questions for what I knew at the time and people generously gave advice... one time I was spoken very harshly too.. I did not explain correctly what was happening and through my own ignorance I was proven wrong but was still correct in my outcome because I was ignorant...
As I start this thread i'm deciding that I really don't want to leave the newbie room... we all actually belong here because we all have challenges that we have not yet faced.
As I hope to one day have a totm quality system I understand that the life given to the creatures I will possess in my system is worth more than new novelties given up as quality products and I hope I can prove I am out for preserving that life force.
so here I sit almost three years later and today I bought a 90 gallon piece of glass for $100...
