So my 2.5 year old RO unit occasionally starts dumping waste water even though all my output valves are closed. I am guessing this is the auto shutoff is failing. Does anyone have any experience with this issue?

Mark,
That would be my guess also.
Mine never did that but would not shut down after making water.
Changed the block & it's fixed.

Replace the check valve on the RO output first. If that doesn't solve it then change the ASOV. Given the ASOV still works my guess is its the check valve leaking pressure very slowly.

if you come up with a solution pls post.

I'm having problems with mine both check valve and ASOV seem okay (my saga post here (http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2397973)).

Looking at your pics I do not see the check valve.

The check valve is most likely in the elbow fitting on the membrain housing. If you pull off the elbows on the output side one should have a metal type fitting in it, thats the check valve.

That how mine is. Believe the replacement I had is good but have ordered a inline one to try.

Well, I replaced the auto shut off yesterday and it seems to work. The old one was constantly dripping. This one if completely off...

So I took apart the old one and sure enough there was a small piece of debris on one of the seals. Fixed. Now I have a backup...
