Wondering if I could be lucky enough to get this blue mushroom(?) identified.

Was sold to the current owner as a carpet Nem. It's 8" across and eats large pieces of silverside.

Is it a blue mushroom (Actinodiscus)? I read that they were once called mushroom anemone.

If it is Actinodiscus, can I frag it like a mushroom? Or do I gotta wait for it to multiply on it's own?

Thx

Actinodiscus mushrooms, the Blue Mushroom or Purple Mushroom typically reaches only 2-3" (5-8 cm). They have a pimpled surface which holds toxic stinging cells, instead of the long feeder tentacles found in sea anemones and stony corals. They have no ribbing but they can have ruffled edges.

This is the info i found on it and u said its 8" across... thats 4 times the normal so i am doubting its mushroom. i could be wrong. lets see what other say.

I pick it up tomorrow. So I'll get pics of the base/foot then. If it's a carpet I have a very large rbta and only a 4' tank so I may have to re-home it due to chemical warfare
