Hey all, I need some advice.
I garbage picked a 55 and the bottom panel has a small clean crack in the corner. I had planned on re siliconing the tank prior to seeing the break. Do you guys think if I bring the silicone bead out further it would hold water?

NOOOO, I would not just silicone over the crack..you would have to replace the bottom panel..

If it is chipped you might be okay, but it does look cracked. Siliconing over it is not safe. The tank will need a new bottom piece

And... there's no reason to risk any livestock in a tank like that when you can purchase a brand-new 55 gallon from Petco for $55.
You could use the tank for an orchid over-wintering enclosure, but that's about it.

Ya, that's what I figured. I actually have no use for a 55 anyway but figured it was with a shot.
Thanks for the responses!

Replacing panels isn't so bad. I got a free 750g GC tank that way.
