As long as you have good flow through the rocks, and If It interests you areas to place corals, I'm a "wall of rock against the back" man myself, can you do a bridge from one to another?

Use plastic hangers to join the pieces together to create whatever shape you like. You don't have to go with the original shapes of the pieces of rock you have. Break them up to create more interesting shapes. Here are some pics of my rockscape build.http://i324.photobucket.com/albums/k347/supperwill/IMG_0159.jpg

The left island is throwing me off a bit. I think its how the rocks on the outside are stacked. Its like they are perfectly placed one on top of the other.

I would also open the structure up a bit more.

Better than my first try I'll tell you that.

In my opinion the two island aquascape is really nice, but if your gonna do it one island should be smaller than the other. Try to make things as asymmetrical as possible. Have fun with it take your time. A few extra days aquascaping and getting it perfect will save you many headaches down the road.

Take a look at this thread if you haven't already. Informative with many nice examples. I found it the other day and rescaped my tank again.

Don't be afraid of a hammer and chisel, thats what I used on mine when I first got it because I had several large pieces...and there are many ways to expoxy, glue some of them together

Looks too symmetrical, especially the left island.

It is similiar to mine.......I agree though, the left stack looks to "perfect". I like the look of the two seperate islands though.
