Hi
I been trying to access my apex from remote( i can acess it from laptop and iphone from home),i set up static ip address read though the tutorial which kind of stops and goes into programming you ATT or Verision router which i dont have. SO im at a loss. I dont even need to use my lap top i have a iphone and a android tablet neither of which i can get to connect remotely i cant even get android to connect at the house.

any help greatly appreciated. ive read and re-read the manual. one of the things it said was go from 9900 to 80 my router want let me says value is greater then the other prompt i get it 'overlap' my router is a linksys wrt54g v1 the wirless on tank is net gear wnc2001

If you really have a 1st gen WRT54g, my first advice is to get a new router. That router may not have the performance necessary to capitalize on the speeds/bandwidth you are paying your ISP for - escape viably if you have cable service.

The Linksys WRT series have only primitive support for port forwarding. They cannot fire art from one port to another, I.e. From 9900 to 80. You will need to change the http port in the Apex to match the port you wish to use on the public/Internet side of the router.

Im not excatley what u mean on the last part ...part about changing http port in apex to port i wish to use?

you mean go to configuration then network setup and change the ip adress of apex? what would i change it to ? would i lose my home network then ?

Sorry about the phone mangling a few words in my earlier post. Escape viable should have been "especially" and fire art should have been "port forward"

No, I said nothing about the IP address - I said change the http port. It's on the same page. Just use 9900.

Thank you again for your help.I changed the port on apex to 9900 but now i cannot log onto it with my lap top. Im able to connect with my phone but only on wireless in my house dosent work outside.

When you use a custom port in the Apex, it must be be specified in the URL in addition to the IP address.

Example: http://192.168.1.50:9900
