How many of you have your skimmer on stands or just sitting directly in sump? Currently, mine is sitting directly in sump. However, it's harder to keep in tune and overflows more. When I put on stand, works flawless. Just curious.

Mine sets on a "stand " in the sump,better for small leaks.Water stays in the system not on my wife's floors.LOL

Acrylic stand for me. To maximize volume I have high baffles in my sump, so the skimmer needs to be on a stand so it is at its 9" optimum water depth.

Mine is on a stand simply to put it in the right depth of water.

Skimmers work best at their recommended level of water. Thats why yours is working better on a stand in the sump. Mine in sump without the stand sits at 11 but works best at 8-9 inches of water. So I need the stand
