Everything is getting more expensive now here and I really mean everything. It is now around 2800 HKD .

Peoples from china come to Hong Kong and spend a lot of money here , it will make the economy here good , but everything is getting more expensive and peoples that work here they don't get salary raise . Peoples here are just suffering. :angryfire:

I may be really broke when I leave, and get caught smuggling Gig's and Mag's on the plane ride home. Lol

I think we may be limiting out on Mags -- when I checked about 45 minutes after it was put up on the site, it was still there. Usually they're already sold when I get the email.

Really miss mine --- lost it when I picked up a purple one that was infected, this was before the treatment was known.

Thinking of getting a bigger tank one of these days, maybe will try another one. At least still have a blue one, and a 7 year old green one.

RIP.

Wow Todd, those are beautiful. Sorry to hear that.

Hope you get another one soon.

I plan to upgrade to a 180. About as big as I'll ever go. Would love to have that space.

Looks blue to me, which is what i'm looking for right now for a haddoni...just not many around here lately in blue. I've got 2 red, 1 green and 1 purple just missing the blue.

It is defiantly not blue. In real it looks like a mix of dark red ,purple and brown. That's why I am asking if you guys can see what color it is.

Tough to justify for that price. I guess if it's your dream to have a red one, but seriously.

DD red carpets are way overpriced IMO. The going rate appears to be $750. Over the past two years, I have purchased two similarly sized and very healthy red haddonis: one for $550 and one for $320. I wonder if its a supply and demand thing. I live in the NYC metro area and although rare, red carpets not all that uncommon. Perhaps because DD markets to a wider audience of markets that don't see many if at all, they can get away with those prices.

The DDs are more expensive- but they usually keep them for a few weeks to make sure they are healthy before listing them. That is a big difference, because buying one for their price is often cheaper than buying several for half the price that do not survive.

DD is expensive because they have to cover the cost of DOA. After replacing the DOA they still have to make some profit so the usual mark up margin is drum roll... 3-5 times the cost of an animal wholesale price. So if anemone cost $300 they probably got it for $50-$100 bucks. The only way DD is going to lower their price is that we as consumer stop paying for it. They and every other retailer will lower their price.

Interesting point. I too have considered that the guarantee is built into the price. Would be interesting if a vendor offered two pricing options: one with the guarantee and one without (sort of like refundable airline tickets), so that the consumer is allowed to make the decision.
