Tank is about 4 months old and have seen this guy start to make a presence. Can anyone confirm if it is actually Aiptasia?

Thanks in Advance . . . Maria

Pretty, but I vote aiptasia. I use boiling water in a syringe to get rid of them

Yes only one . . . so far. Unfortunately it is in a hole way on the bottom of tank under a few layers of rocks and hard to get to. Have given it two doses of Aiptasia-X over last two days. Seems injured - maybe lost a tentacle or two but still hanging in there!!! Grrrrr Will try to "build" some sort of longer, curved tool to try and get in its home better I guess.

Slap a load of milliput over it. Encase it in its own tomb

If aptasia x does not work, I found that removing the Live rock and actually burning the little buggers was really effective. You lose a little coralline in the surrounding, but it solved my problem quickly and I never saw them again.
Kill it fast, it spread fasts and will even grow in your sand bed. Make sure when using aptasia x you get right in there otherwise they will realise spawn and pollute your tank further.

Well after I made this homemade contraption to get around the bottom of the rock it was living in . . . I think I got him. I believe I see his dead body hanging out, lol.

I once had one grow on my return line (the part sitting in my DT) of all places! I turned the pump off, filled a large enough tupperware container with boiling water and dunked the return spout in it for 60 seconds to kill the bugger.

If you see it hanging out, do it again. They'll excrete spores when threatened to grow more. make sure that bugger is dead for good.
