Unfortunately, you can't frag meat corals / acanthophylias.

Yes. Do you mind me asking where you got it, was it expensive, and do they grow fast?

I got it from a buddy in new york. At the time it was tiny and white so it was $50. And the flesh grows quick. Skeleton grows slow. With this coloration at a store you're looking at least $200

Yep they typically go for 100-300. Even higher for "ultras" which just means grab your ankles cause it's pretty lol.

I've seen them go for $500 plus for the ultra grade

That's crazy. The one in the display at tcr must be worth a fortune

Worth? Prob not as most of these come in as scolys. Which brings along the scoly price tag. Cost a fortune? Most definitely

Ya, key word "worth". Allot of talk in the hobby right now in regards to price tags. The $2000 a 1/2" frags that sold recently have people on all sides chiming in. That same vendor constantly posts $400 a polyp or 1/2" frags freshly cut. People will try asking questions, and before you know it, the vendor replies all sold lol. I know personally I am guilty of hunting down an orange hammer, and I am willing to pay up to $500 for the right specimen, so it seems I am adding to the issue, but it is "worth" it to me.

And when it grows and you frag it it will be worth it to others also.

I don't frag my LPS. Just zoas and sticks. And even then, I am giving it away to the local guys. My LPS exists as large colonies or dead skeletons, always crossing my fingers against the latter.

While they are possible to frag, its a very very risky maneuver. Mine will only be for sale when he finally outgrows his spot. (or any spot I can find for him)
