I have a crappy old Aqua Medic Reef Doser. It's time to replace the pump tube assemblies. It appears that the tubing used is 6" of 1/4" ID X 3/8" OD Tan Rubber Tubing ($5 per foot at McMaster-Carr). McMaster-Carr says the tubing is good for parastalic pumps. It looks like the Aqua Medic replacement parts cost like $24 EACH. The assembly consists of the two nipples that fit into the doser unit with the tubing secured by zip ties. When can cut the old tubing off the old nipples I have plenty of zip ties.

Here's the link for the tubing: http://www.mcmaster.com/#50345K79

Has anyone tried to replace the tubing rather than paying a fortune for the replacement part?
