I emailed BRS and they don't know yet.

Here (http://************.com/2014/06/04/vertex-omega-180i-200i-places-powerful-pumps-proven-skimmer-design/)'s an article.

I thought someone on here might have some more info...

I should have mentioned that I emailed them this weekend and haven't heard back yet. ;)

EDIT: Just got a reply! "within the next 3 weeks"

EDIT #2: The Omega 180i will be available for retail in the next 3-4 weeks. You should be able to find it from all the major online retailers especially Bulk Reef Supply...

Thanks for sharing. Will they be on sale just like to 130 and 150 last year?

BRS hasn't even received them yet, so I don't even know if they can answer that yet.

Still exchanging a couple emails with Vertex and Proline... "The Omega 180i will be available for the second and third week of July for retail in the United States."

Is 200i the largest model?

Yes sir. It'll be coming with an askoll pump, I'd imagine it'll be a pretty nice overall package.

EDIT: as I mention below, I just found out that the 200i will be release at MACNA at the latest.

to confirm the 200i is coming out next month? is it good for a 200 gallon heavy bioload?

Just heard back from Proline, the 200i will be released at MACNA at the latest.

The 200i is rated at 800 liters (~211 gallons) at heavy bioload. That being said, apparently some Vertex reps at Interzoo said is could handle 1000 liters (~264 gallons).

Again the 200i will come with a custom askoll motor block, which should give even better performance than the already impressive sicce's with custom enlarged volutes. But I'd imagine will be a little more pricey.

This (http://blog.aquanerd.com/2014/06/vertex-omega-180i-and-200i.html) is another article that mentions more, with space saving pictures.

Nothing new to report. The 180i will be released in the 2nd or 3rd week of July at the latest, and the 200i will be released around MACNA.

I received my 180i a few days ago, so far so good. Just need some ideas on how to adjust it. I wish it gave more instruction for rookies!

What is the water level in your sump? Also, it uses a wedgepipe I believe. So, the more open the wedge pipe is - more water is allowed out of the skimmer. As you close the wedge pipe more it will raise the level of water in the skimmer. If you close it too much it will overflow, but if it's not closed enough you won't be skimming anything. I assume there will be a pump break-in period for you, this usually means that the pump will be inconsistent to start out. Until you're confident that it's broken in (maybe 1-4 weeks) skim on the dryer side (wedgepipe more open). Good luck, hope that makes sense.
