I am going to buy gfo from Marine Depot. Can you recommend a brand they carry?

I've never used rowaphos before, but I've heard good things about it. I also know of many people/shops that use this media.

I always use the brs bulk or premium aquatic bulk gfo

This stuff works fine for me, and is cheap.

We don't have any objective data on GFO performance. I've used PhosBan and Phosphate Killer, and they seemed fine, although I used GFO mostly as a safety net.

BRS high capacity is the best bang for your buck. Still think that they should offer free shipping for orders over $75 though. $175 is too much for dry goods.
Used the regular phosguard for a bit but didn't like it much.

I agree, I currently use the BRS gfo and it works great. I don't really need to rinse it all that much and find that it tumbles better in my reactor. I've used the phosban previously and found that it was too fine and took a long time to rinse the media clean.

I ended up ordering Rowaphos. I have the Innovative Marine 150 mL capacity reactor for my 16 gallon Nuvo. How much Rowaphos do I add to the reactor for 16 gallons?

FWIW, I prefer the bulk reef supply high capacity/HC gfo. It is denser , doesn't grind up easily ,has little dust and tolerates the regeneration process well

I might start with half the recommended dosage of RowaPhos, and see how that goes.

I used BRS high capacity and switched to Rowaphos for years one of the best until couple weeks ago when I decided to give PO4x4 a try and this stuff I can say is amazing and the best I have ever tried. Plus you can buy the regeneration salt for it
